Born and raised on the island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Rudy Faulkner delivers a truly unique musical gift that has created a buzz with audiences around the world!

 

Rudy studied classical music along with jazz at Norfolk State University and Virginia Commonwealth University. His ability to improvise and use his voice as an instrument played an important part in his music career. This helped him develop his unique vocal style. While attending VCU he met Jon Hendricks, who was instrumental in his development. Rudys natural ability has given him the opportunity to open for the likes of Clarke Terry, Carmen McRae, Jon Hendricks, Betty Carter and Rene Marie.

 

Rudys ability to master many musical genres has made him a hit in the opera houses in Italy, Germany, France and Austria. He has performed in over 300 concerts throughout Europe and remains in demand. He has also mastered gospel, salsa, R&B, soul and calypso. A fiery percussionist and master of many vocal styles, he blends a rainbow of influences into a unique and remarkable voice. The Richmond Times-Dispatch calls Faulkner a musicians singer because of his total mastery of improvisation. His power, poise and unique approach make him one of the most exciting vocalists around.
